How to start the day with a positive attitude
Positive Attitude – I am a great believer that your ‘Attitude’ will determine your outcome for the day.
Having the right attitude isn’t something that just happens and is not always easy, trust me, I myself have to remind myself often and is the result of a conscious effort.
The following are a few of the simple but powerful strategies which I use to help myself become a more positive person each day:
Affirmations such as “Today is going to be a great day” or “I’m in excellent health and have boundless energy!” I find are empowering.
Expect the best and look for the good in everyone. I know it is harder to see in some people and in some situations but everyone has their good points. I have often found that having a positive expectation has changed many conversations resulting in a better outcome. So start looking for what is right in a person or situation instead of looking for what is wrong
Body Language. I have noticed that positive people carry themselves differently than negative people. I find standing up straight, shoulders back and giving people good eye contact, along with a wider range of tonality and facial expressions, helps focus me on being positive.
Develop an attitude of gratitude. It is easy to focus on complaining about things we do not have, that we lose sight of the things we have. There is such a lot to be thankful for and focusing on appreciation for what we do have can change how you feel.
Reading/Music/CD’s Reading or listening to something positive in the morning puts me in the right frame of mind and use the time I travel in the car to listen to uplifting music or a motivational personal development recording.
In summary don’t leave your attitude to be determined by other people or situations beyond your control.
Take action and start your day on a positive note today!
